We would like to invite your firm to participate in our inaugural Forum on Women’s Advancement in Large Law Firms by Vernā Myers Consulting Group modeled after the highly successful Kanter Myers Race/Ethnicity in Large Law Firm Conference VMCG has sponsored for the last four years.
As suggested by the title, “Under Construction: New Blueprints and Approaches to Success”, we will consider:
• What if we stopped tinkering around with the old model and designed a new blueprint for our law firms?
• What if the restructuring benefited everyone -- including the increasing numbers of young men who also crave a better balance between their personal and professional lives?
• What if we exposed the invisible networks that unconsciously and disproportionately benefit men, and tried to replicate them for women?
• What if firms decided that -- to improve their decision-making, client service, and financial prosperity -- they needed to groom and move women into leadership roles, not some day but right away?
• What if we bridged the gap between the newer generation of women associates and older female partners, so they could fully support each other’s choices?
• What if men were in the forefront, cutting the ribbon on this new structure?
What if…
The forum is designed to be small, highly interactive and unconventional – a place to challenge old ideas and try on new possibilities. We borrow ideas from other industries and disciplines, exploring different ways of approaching problems as a way to break out of the status quo. The participants stay together for the whole day; we resist panels with all our strength. We believe we are all panelists – all experts on the issues and all struggling together
to find a way to resolve them. Most important, through an atmosphere of shared creativity and practical optimism, the Forum give participants a renewed sense of energy, community, and purpose.
We look forward to your firm’s participation in this important and innovative initiative. Finally,
we have included a working agenda of what we expect to present and invite your ideas as we continue to develop the agenda.

Each firm can register up to three representatives – one must be a partner in the firm, and at least
